This April, 72-year-old Elizabeth noticed a lump in her left breast. She went to a hospital near her home in Kenya and underwent a needle biopsy. Her doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer and told her that she needs a mastectomy. If not treated, her cancer may spread to her other organs, potentially resulting in death.
However, Elizabeth cannot afford the mastectomy she so urgently needs. She earns some income as a farmer, but her family has already had to spend extensively on two other medical issues she’s dealing with, hypertension and diabetes.
Elizabeth is a widow, and most of her children have families of their own to support. They are not able to adequately provide for their mother, as well as her breast cancer treatment.
For $740, we can fund Elizabeth’s mastectomy. This sum will also cover the medication and six-day hospital stay that Elizabeth will need to recuperate from her surgery.
“I want to be strong and enjoy my elderly age with few health related problems,” shares Elizabeth. Let’s help make it possible!
