Kabasinguzi is a 54-year-old mother of six living in Uganda. She and her husband are subsistence farmers, and they depend on their children to help support them.
About six months ago, Kabasinguzi began feeling regular pain in her abdomen and back, which coincided with severe headaches. When she began to experience irregular bleeding, she went to a local clinic for treatment. Unfortunately her condition continued to worsen. She sought help at our medical partner’s care center, where she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Doctors recommended that she have a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding and alleviate her pain.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $268 to fund Kabasinguzi’s surgery, which is scheduled to take place on September 12. Kabasinguzi is hopeful that the surgery will allow her to live pain-free and return to her farm and her family.
