Ingrid is a 30-year-old woman who lives in one of Guatemala’s southern coffee growing communities. For the last six months, she has been living with a cyst just under the skin of her scalp. The cyst has been growing rapidly, and is now causing severe pain from the tension on the skin. She is also experiencing frequent bleeding from irritation of the skin over the cyst.
Eager to receive medical care, Ingrid is hoping Watsi donors can help her cover the $275 cost of treatment. “Ingrid makes very little money,” our partners in Guatemala write, “and surgery is out of her financial means.”
Our partners are looking to raise enough money to cover the costs of Ingrid’s lab work, surgery, and travel to make this treatment happen.

Ingrid received surgery to remove a painful cyst on her head.
Ingrid is now at home recovering nicely. At her follow-up appointment, she reported feeling less pain and is looking forward to putting her health problems behind her.
Although this was a relatively minor health issue, it was a source of significant pain and stress for Ingrid. She has expressed gratitude to Watsi donors for making the surgery possible, as she was not able to afford the surgery on her own.
