San is a 54-year-old woman from Cambodia. She has four older brothers and enjoys watching Khmer television dramas in her free time.
Three months ago, San developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her vision loss. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When San learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 11, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope that I can see better and recognize my relatives’ faces, and be able to go outside on my own.”
