Cornelius is a 42-year-old father of two from Kenya. He is separated from his wife, and has always done his best to provide for his children through casual labor, earning income through farm work or other physically demanding work. Years ago, Cornelius studied electrical engineering and carried dreams of building a stable future, but those ambitions were interrupted by personal struggles that affected his ability to find stable employment and maintain family relationships.
Ten days ago, Cornelius was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way home, sustaining severe fractures on both legs. His legs were immobilized using splints, and doctors have recommended urgent fracture repair surgery. The first procedure has been approved for coverage under the national social health insurance fund, but he still needs another procedure for his second leg. For a man who already struggles to survive through manual labour, he is unable to finance his treatment, and without it, he risks chronic pain and permanent loss of his ability to walk and work.
Fortunately, on May 7th, Cornelius will undergo fracture repair surgery with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. He is seeking to raise $861 to fund the surgery, which will give him the chance to recover and rebuild his life.
Cornelius says, “I thank God I came to AIC Kapsowar Hospital. Please support my treatment, so that when I fully recover, I can work and continue providing for my family.”
