Soy, a 64-year-old woman from Cambodia, has one daughter and four grandchildren. She’s experiencing a hypermature cataract in her left eye, causing partial blindness.
“Soy has been partially blind for the past year. She has been unable to work as a rice farmer and has a hard time cooking and caring for her family,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). In her spare time, Soy enjoys listening to the radio and the monks praying at the pagoda.
Together we can ensure Soy’s vision is restored. For just $150, Soy will receive cataract surgery which will improve her eyesight and prevent future blindness. CSC tells us, “Soy is most looking forward to joining the ceremonies and visiting family in another province.”
