Ephantus is a 32-year-old man from Kenya. He is the firstborn in a family of seven children. He helps to support his siblings by working as a laborer in a manufacturing company.
Since birth, Ephantus has had a supraumbilical hernia, but he did not have symptoms until about four months ago, when he began to experience abdominal pain, affecting his work. He sought attention at a local hospital and was prescribed pain medication.
As the pain persisted, Ephantus decided to seek further medical assistance, and doctors determined that he needed surgery to resolve his symptoms. If left untreated, the condition may worsen, making it increasingly difficult for him to work and support himself. It may also lead to serious complications that could further affect his health and quality of life.
Fortunately, on June 1st, Ephantus will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $517 to fund his surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Ephantus shared, “I am still young, and our parents are not able. This condition is really bothering me. I plead for help so that I can be okay again and be able to support my family.”
