Ra is a 27-year-old farmer who is married with two sons. He likes to watch boxing on TV and listen to music.
Seven months ago, Ra was in a road traffic accident that caused a fracture to his left forearm and a dislocated shoulder. Ra received treatment from a hospital in Phnom Penh, but his symptoms did not improve. Ra could not lift his left arm, and he was in pain.
When Ra learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for three hours to seek treatment. He was diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury (BPI), which occurs when nerves in the back are damaged. On November 8, CSC surgeons performed a BPI surgery to repair his damaged nerves.
After recovery, Ra will be able to use his arm easily again. Now, he needs help to fund this $450 procedure.
