Tusiime is a two-year-old boy from Uganda. His parents are separated, and he lives with his mother who practices small scale farming to sustain her family.
One month ago, Tusiime developed a hydrocele, a condition caused by fluid collection in the scrotal sac. If left untreated, a hydrocele can lead to complications such as an infection and the development of an inguinal hernia.
Fortunately, on January 8th, Tusiime will undergo hydrocele repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center, Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Tusiime’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure should enable him to live a healthier life, free from his painful symptoms.
Tusiime’s mother said: “I have been very worried about the condition of my son, and the finances for the operation. I am grateful to the doctor for connecting me to this program for support. I will continue practicing farming and work hard to care for my family.’’
