Dorcus is a 27-year-old woman from Uganda. She previously worked in a primary school, but due to her deteriorating health, she left her job and now does some small-scale farming. Her husband is currently pursuing a Diploma in Education, and their finances as stretched at the moment.
About six years ago, Dorcus began to experience troubling symptoms, including a painful mass in a sensitive area. Initially, the pain would come and go, but this year, it became persistent, and the mass increased in size. Her condition has become increasingly distressing, making it difficult for her to use the bathroom, walk, or sit comfortably. Dorcus sought medical treatment at Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital, and was diagnosed with hemorrhoids. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare is helping Dorcus receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a hemorrhoidectomy on October 15th, where surgeons will remove her hemorrhoids. Now, Dorcus needs your help to raise $113 to support the cost of the surgery and her care.
Dorcus shared, “I am grateful to the medical team at Ibanda Hospital for the warm reception and care they have given me. I am hopeful that I will undergo a successful surgery and recover from my condition. After recovering from the surgery, I will look for a job and resume teaching to support myself and my family.”
