Obed is a 12-month-old boy from Tanzania. He is an only child, whose mother currently lives at her family home, while his father resides in Kenya. As a small-scale farmer, Obed’s mother works hard to provide for her son and meet his daily needs.
Obed was born with clubfoot on his right foot, a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual and this causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. A community partner of Kafika House met Obed’s family and advised them to bring him to Kafika House for assessment and treatment.
Obed is currently scheduled to begin clubfoot treatment on October 15th. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare is requesting $341 to fund Obed’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will grow, play, and develop with improved foot alignment.
“I am grateful that my son can receive treatment. I hope his foot will improve so he can walk comfortably,” shared Obed’s mother.
