Francis is a four-year-old boy from Uganda. One morning, while his mother was preparing breakfast, Francis sustained severe burns on his right arm, chest, and abdomen.
Francis attends a local elementary school. When he is home, he likes to play football with other children in the community and fetch water with his older brother.
After he was burned, Francis’s mother brought him to a local clinic. He was referred to a hospital run by Watsi’s medical partner in Uganda, The Kellermann Foundation.
On October 3, Francis received medication and treatment for his burns. This care costs $610. His parents, Salama and John, need financial assistance to cover the expense. Salama is a housewife, while John makes a living by loading and offloading trucks in a nearby town.
Salama hopes that her son will return to school and take his promotional exams. “I thank the donors for the help and for making the treatment available for us,” she says. “May God bless you.”
