Pamella is a 33-year-old mother of three children from Uganda. She is a qualified primary school teacher by profession, having completed her training, but is currently a home maker. Her husband earns a living as a boda-boda motorcycle rider, an occupation that provides only a modest and often unpredictable income for the family. The family lives in a rented single-room brick house, where they struggle to meet their daily needs, including food, shelter, education for their children, and healthcare expenses. Their financial situation remains fragile, leaving them with little capacity to cater for major medical costs.
Throughout her pregnancy, Pamella has consistently attended all her antenatal care appointments at Rushoroza Hospital and has received the recommended maternal healthcare services up to term. Upon recent assessment at Rushoroza Hospital, it was established that Pamella has a history of three previous caesarean section deliveries. Due to the risks associated with multiple uterine scars, the medical team has recommended an elective caesarean section as the safest mode of delivery.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Pamella undergo a C-Section on July 23rd. This procedure will cost $214, and Pamella needs your support.
Pamella says, “I have faithfully attended all my antenatal visits and followed every instruction given by the health workers because I want the best for my baby. The doctors have advised that I deliver through an operation because of my previous caesarean sections, but my family cannot afford the cost. I kindly appeal to the donor program to support me so that I can safely welcome my baby and continue caring for my children. Your kindness will give my family hope and a brighter future.”
