Peter is a 23-year-old man from Uganda. He is the third born in a family of six children. He sells Miraa plants at a shopping center.
Peter was involved in a traffic accident on March 4th, 2024, where he was hit by a vehicle from behind while riding a motorbike. The motorist sped away and he was left alone. Good samaritans took him to the hospital where x-rays were done and showed he had a fracture on his right leg and right jaw bone. Peter requires surgery but is unable to afford it.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On August 6th, Peter will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. The treatment will help Peter’s leg to unite without deformity and prevent malunion enabling him to walk. Now, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,048 to fund this procedure.
Peter shared: “My parents are poor and we don’t have money for this surgery. I really need support otherwise I will be disabled. At present, even talking is a challenge because of my jaw. I hope someone will help me so that I can regain my normal self and continue with my life.”
