Irene is a 26-year-old woman from Uganda. She grew up as the youngest of four siblings, with one brother and two sisters. Irene’s father passed away in 2000. Irene studied up to Senior Four but was unable to continue with further education due to a lack of school fees. While she enrolled in a nursery‑teaching course, financial constraints prevented her from being able to complete the training. Irene married her husband six years ago, and they have two children. Their oldest is five and in Primary One class at school, and their youngest is two and in the baby class. Irene runs a small retail business that helps sustain their family, while her husband earns a living through his boda‑boda business. During her free time, Irene enjoys taking care of her family.
Irene is currently expecting her third child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a cesarean section in order to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Irene undergo a C-Section on May 7th. This procedure will cost $252.
Irene shared, “It will be a blessing to deliver with your support because my biggest worry was the hospital bill payment; otherwise, I hope for a fruitful and successful delivery.”
