Francis is a 64-year-old father of nine children from Uganda. He practices small-scale farming alongside his wife on their small piece of land, growing millet and beans.
For about a month, Francis has been experiencing swelling, pain, and discomfort while passing urine. He initially sought treatment at a local clinic without long-term relief for his symptoms, and was advised to visit a larger hospital.
Francis went to our medical partner’s care center, Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital, where he was reviewed and diagnosed with a hydrocele, a collection of fluid in the scrotal sac, causing it to swell. He needs surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse, but unfortunately he is unable to raise the funds required for his treatment.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Francis receive treatment. On March 26th, he will undergo repair surgery at Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital. Now, Francis needs help to fund this $201 procedure.
He says: “I am happy and thankful to God for protecting me until now, when I can receive assistance at Ibanda hospital. I seek support towards my surgery, as I am unable to afford it. Once recovered, I will keep practicing farming and cater to the needs of my family.’’
