Jennifer 47 years old and a farmer from Uganda. Her husband works as an attendant and manager on a privately owned farm. Together, they work hard to support their four children.
For two years, Jennifer has been experiencing lower abdominal pain accompanied by backache. Over time, her condition has worsened, and she has been experiencing other uncomfortable gynaecological symptoms. Unfortunately, her symptoms have not improved with oral medication.
Jennifer learned about our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital, and sought treatment. She has been diagnosed with multiple uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. She is scheduled to undergo surgery on November 5th, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $219 to fund her procedure and care. Once recovered, Jennifer will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Jennifer says, “I have done anything I can within my limits to make sure I get better, but I have finally accepted that without money, I can do nothing. I kindly appeal to you for support because surgery is needed, but I can’t raise the money required for me to afford it.”
