Mbwana is a 65-year-old farmer from Malawi who lives with his wife and extended family. Mbwana spends his days helping with the farm and doing some light chores around his home. When he has quiet time, he just likes to spend it with his wife of many years.
About two months ago, Mbwana began experiencing difficulty urinating and great discomfort. He was recently diagnosed with prostatic hyperplasia, the condition of an enlarged prostate. Prostate resection, which will remove part of Mbwana’s enlarged prostate gland, is needed in order to relieve him of his pain.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund prostate surgery for Mbwana, which is scheduled to take place on June 29. The procedure, once completed, will hopefully allow Mbwana to return to his family and former lifestyle without his current pain and discomfort.
“Thank you,” says Mbwana.
