Ronald is a 24-year-old small-scale farmer from Uganda. His wife is also a small-scale farmer. They have two children together, a toddler and an infant. Ronald’s family shares a single mud-made room for shelter.
Six years ago, before marrying his wife, Ronald began experiencing swelling and pain in his right inguinal region. As time went on, the swelling started to increase in size. Ronald sought out medical care, but the medication he was provided only helped for a short time. He reports that his condition deteriorated after getting married and that he is concerned about the impact his condition could have on his marriage.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. Ronald sought out care at AMH’s care center and was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia. On June 7th, Ronald will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Now, AMH is requesting $170 to fund Ronald’s surgery.
Ronald says, “I pray that I may get well through surgery so that I may live a happy life with my family.”
