Janet is a mother of nine from Kenya. She works hard buying and selling vegetables in order to meet the needs of her children.
Eleven years ago, Janet began to experience troubling symptoms, including a neck mass and difficulty breathing and swallowing. She was diagnosed with a multi-nodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Janet receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on February 8 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $641, and she and her family need help raising money.
“My prayer is to get healed so that I can help other people who experience the same challenges am going through in my life. I want to work hard also and see that my children who are still in school complete their studies,” says Janet.
