Vanneth is a factory worker from Cambodia. He is single and has one brother and one sister. He enjoys playing the Temple Run game on his phone.
Four months ago, Vanneth was in motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture in his tibia and paralysis of his right arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. He cannot move his right arm or use his right hand, and he cannot work.
Vanneth traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On May 2, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will be able to use his arm again. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $637 to fund this procedure.
He says, “I hope after the operation, I can move my arm without pain.”
