Mackline is a five-year-old girl who lives with her parents and four siblings. Her father, Milton, picks tea leaves to earn a living.
Mackline has been diagnosed with severe malnutrition. Her symptoms include stunted growth, diarrhea, and poor concentration. Without health insurance, her father was reluctant to bring her to the hospital. Fortunately, Mackline and her younger brother were both referred to our medical partner’s hospital, Bwindi Community Hospital, for treatment.
With the help of Watsi’s medical partner, the Kellermann Foundation, Mackline began treatment on November 5. She will receive the nutritional supplementation, growth monitoring, and follow-up she needs to ensure she remains healthy and strong. Mackline’s family will be contributing $4, but they need help to fund this $316 treatment.
“I am very appreciative of the support you render for my daughter’s treatment,” says Milton. Our support will allow Mackline to enjoy a healthy childhood.
