Eliudi is a bright sixth grader who lives with his mother in Tanzania. He loves playing soccer with his friends and is doing very well in school. Eliudi says, “When I grow up I want to be a business man and earn lots of money. I’ll take good care of my mom.”
Until he becomes that successful business man, Eliudi does his best to help his mother, a nursery school teacher, around the house. However, Eliudi finds it difficult to complete his tasks because a burn scar contracture (or tightened skin) on his right hand prevents him from using his hand freely. A simple surgery to release the tension in his skin could restore his hand’s function.
Eliudi’s mother can’t afford to pay for his surgery, and needs our help to raise the $505 to pay for the operation. Let’s work together to help Eliudi regain function of his hand, easing his path to success.
