Godfrey is a farmer from Kenya. He lives with his wife and has six children. He used to work as a teacher. He has diabetes and high blood pressure, conditions that require him to purchase medications every month. These costs drain most of his income.
Ten years ago, Godfrey developed a cataract in his right eye. A cataract occurs when the lens of the eye becomes opaque, blurring vision. He underwent a cataract surgery, which improved his eyesight tremendously. He was able to resume his normal duties. Recently, his left eye developed the same condition. For the past five months, he has experienced blurry vision.
Fortunately, Godfrey is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $220 procedure.
Godfrey says, “My wish is to have my vision restored and be made more clear.”
