Thy is a 65-year-old cleaner from Cambodia. She is living with her husband and her daughter in Phnom Penh where her workplace located. She likes to listen to music and the news on the radio.
One month ago, Thy developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry version, cannot recognize things clearly, and cannot go to work. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On April 21st, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
“I hope that I will able to see clearly and recognize everything clearly, so I can start my work,” Thy said.
