Moeun is a Khmer cake seller from Cambodia. She has four daughters, eleven grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer and Thai television dramas in her free time.
Two years ago, Moeun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her cloudy vision and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Moeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for a half hour seeking treatment. On June 10, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope that my eye surgery is successful so that I can go anywhere I want to by myself and can continue selling my Khmer cakes.”
