Edward is a four-year-old boy from Uganda. He is the youngest of eight children in a hardworking farming family. His parents are farmers who depend on seasonal maize farming to provide for their household.
For the past four years, Edward has had an inguinal hernia, a condition that occurs when abdominal tissue or intestines bulge through weak spots in the lower abdominal wall. He experiences significant pain in his lower abdomen and groin, making it difficult for him to participate in childhood activities.
Fortunately, on October 13th, Edward will undergo hernia repair surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $234 to fund Edward’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Edward’s mother shared, “I hope this treatment will save the life of my child, and after recovery, he will be able to walk to school.”
