Meet Jordan, a four-year-old boy from Uganda. “When he is well, Jordan loves to play soccer, jump rope, and other games with children in the village,” says our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation (KF).
Jordan has malaria, which has caused him a high fever, headaches, anemia, and diarrhea. Malaria parasites damage blood cells and cause poor blood circulation to the organs.
KF tells us, “Jordan is lethargic and without treatment, his doctor is concerned that his malaria will progress to severe malaria.”
Jordan is the only child to his parents, both of whom are small farmers and farm laborers. They are unable to afford the costs of malaria treatment for Jordan.
For $130, Jordan will be hospitalized to receive malaria medications as well as a blood transfusion.
Jordan’s mother shares, “You have made us very happy. Thank you for the help.”
