Asiimwe is a kindergarten teacher who expects to deliver her second child in August. Asiimwe graduated from college as a kindergarten teacher and used to teach in Kampala. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with the closure of schools, she returned to her village in southwestern Uganda to try out farming to provide for her family. Currently, she lives with her uncle because Asiimwe lost contact with her husband.
Asiimwe has had a full antenatal package and during her last visit, the midwife recommended her for a caesarian section to ensure a safe birth for the mother and child.
Asiimwe says, “With my income nowadays, I am not able to pay for the surgery yet I desire to have a live baby. Please support my treatment.”

Asiimwe safely deliver her baby but was able to access other financial support.
We just received an update from our medical partner that Asiimwe safely delivered her baby. She went in to labor early and welcomed a healthy new baby. Both are back home now. As Asiimwe’s delivery came early and she ended up being able to raise funds for the care, our medical partner has asked that we support another patient in need right now. Thank you for your support and understanding.
