“Saroeun has blurry vision in both of her eyes and can’t read, see faces or things clearly, or go to the pagoda alone,” our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) explains.
Saroeun, who is 74-years-old and lives with her five kids and six grandchildren in Cambodia, has mature cataracts in both of her eyes. “After her vision is better, she looks forward to going to the pagoda without help from her friends, taking care of her grandchildren, and helping her daughter sell groceries at her local store,” CSC continues.
$150 covers the cost of Saroeun’s cataract surgery which will provide her with clear vision in her right eye. She is will be receiving surgery on her left eye next week. Let’s help her regain her independence!

Saroeun has clearer vision after her first cataract surgery.
“Saroeun is excited to return home and help her daughter sell groceries, and do house work,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). “She wants to take care of her grandchildren and go to the pagoda whenever she wants.”
CSC adds that Saroeun is a candidate for surgery on her left eye next week. After her second surgery, her vision will be completely restored.
