Ork is a father of six from Cambodia. He is a rice farmer. He has one son, five daughters, and ten grandchildren. He enjoys listening to monks pray on the radio.
Five years ago, Ork developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him itchiness and blurred vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ork learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On February 8, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I am looking forward to being able to recognize my grandchildren’s faces again.”
