Mercy is a 34-year-old mother from Uganda. She and her husband are small-scale farmers who work hard to support their four children. However, their limited income is often dedicated to daily necessities, leaving little room for unexpected expenses, such as medical care. In her free time, Mercy enjoys weaving baskets, which she hopes to eventually sell to help support her family. Mercy is pregnant, and doctors recommend she deliver via a C-section due to previous complications and a high-risk pregnancy. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of Mercy and her baby. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Mercy undergo a C-Section on November 2nd. This procedure will cost $214, and Mercy needs your support. Having experienced previous miscarriages, she deeply values the opportunity to have a safe delivery and return home with her baby. Mercy says, “I have gone through many challenges during my journey to motherhood, including the painful loss of my first two babies. Today, I am hopeful that I will safely welcome this baby, but I am worried because my husband and I depend on small-scale farming and cannot afford the hospital bills for my operation. I humbly appeal to the donors to support me during this difficult time. Your kindness would give me hope, help me receive the care I need, and allow me to return home with my baby in my arms. Srey Neth is a cheerful little girl from Cambodia. She is 21 months old and lives with her parents and three older siblings. Her oldest brother is in Grade 5, her second brother is in Grade 1, and her older sister is five years old. Her father works in construction, while her mother stays home to care for the children and manage the household. Her favorite foods are sour fish soup and oranges. During her free time, she enjoys playing with slime with her older sister and watching cartoons together. Srey Neth has congenital pseudarthrosis of the right tibia, a condition that causes the bone to develop and heal abnormally. Her right lower leg is curved, and despite previous surgery and pin placement, the bone has not healed properly. The unhealed tibia and leg position affect the stability and development of her right leg. She needs further surgery to stabilize the bone and support healing so that she can have a better chance of standing, walking, and playing normally as she grows. Srey Neth's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), and sought treatment. On August 13th, Srey Neth will undergo surgery that will improve her strength and mobility. Now, she needs help to fund this $582 procedure. Srey Neth's mother said, “I hope this surgery will stabilize my daughter’s right tibia and give her bone a better chance to heal so that, as she grows, she can eventually stand, walk, and play normally.”

Lida is a 20-year-old garment factory worker from Cambodia. She is the youngest of six siblings and lives with her elderly mother. Her father passed away three years ago, while all of her siblings work in garment factories. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and watching movies. In September 2024, Lida was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in open fractures of her left thigh bone and shin bone. She initially received treatment at a private hospital before coming to CSC for further care. She continues to have stiffness in her left knee and ankle and needs crutches to walk. She also has discharge from the outer side of her left ankle, causing ongoing discomfort and making it difficult for her to move independently. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On September 03, Lida will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $378. Removing the frame and applying a below-knee cast will support the next stage of her recovery, helping protect her leg while it continues to heal and allowing her to work toward walking more independently. Lida said, “I hope this treatment will help my leg heal, and reduce the infection and discomfort. I look forward to walking more independently and returning to my normal daily activities.”
