Khadak is a 36-year-old farmer who lives in Nepal with his wife, three daughters, and son. He owns a small farm with a few goats and cows, but goes to India after the harvest season to work as a manual laborer.
While he was irrigating his field, Khadak fell down and landed on his hand. He fractured his distal radius, which has caused excruciating pain and swelling preventing him from using his hand. He hopes he can recover before the monsoon season ends because it is the peak time for planting rice. If it ends before he gets well, Khadak fears his family won’t have enough to eat.
For $205, Khadak will receive an above elbow cast for his fracture. He expects that the treatment will allow him to finish his rice plantation and get fit before leaving for India. Let’s help Khadak get back on his feet!
