Long is a 39-year-old construction worker. His wife works as a vegetable seller at a local market, and together they have two children. Long’s son is 7 years old and in grade one, and his daughter is 14 years old and in grade six. In his free time, Long enjoys playing chess, fishing, and meeting up with friends.
In May 2020, Long was in a motor vehicle crash and fractured his left forearm. After the accident, his family took him to a local hospital, where he received a plate and screws in his left forearm. As the fracture has not healed correctly, Long’s elbow is stiff and he has signs of infection. This makes it difficult for Long to move his arm, and he experiences chronic pain.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On December 1st, Long will undergo a hardware removal procedure to help him use his arm again and eventually return to work. CSC is requesting $230 to fund Long’s procedure.
Long shared that he hopes his left forearm heals soon and will be free of pain and infection. He wants to work with this hand to support his family again.
