Favour is a one year old girl, living in Uganda with her parents. Her mother aspires to be a nurse, while currently working as a hairdresser. Her father is in the bodaboda motorcycle taxi business in Kampala.
Favour has had a swelling below her left armpit ever since she was three weeks old. It is painless, and her parents report that they’ve never seen her cry because of it; however, they are worried because it continues to grow in size. They took Favour to the Rwashamire health center, but were referred to our facility because there was no surgeon available for them.
On May 26th, surgeons at Karoli Lwanga Hospital, Nyakibale will be able to remove the mass. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is seeking your help to raise the $137 needed to fund this procedure.
Favour’s mother says: “My biggest worry is that this could turn into cancer over time, but I know that when operated on, she will get better.”
