Meet Sadam, a 26-year-old married man with one child. He does casual jobs to support his family.
On October 14th, Sadam and his colleagues just received their payment after they unloaded a truck containing sand. As they tried to split the money equally amongst themselves, there was some disagreement. The confrontation got heated and Sadam decided to walk away. While he was walking away, his colleague grabbed a shovel and hit him on the left leg close to the ankle. The impact left him with a deep cut and an open fracture. He was bleeding profusely and needed urgent medical attention. His friends took him to a nearby hospital where he was examined. His leg was treated and he was discharged home with pain medication. While recovering at home, his leg became infected.
Sadam was referred to our medical partner’s care center, AIC Kijabe Hospital, where he was examined and taken to the operating room for an emergency debridement surgery. This was later followed by an orthopedic fixation surgery. He recovered well and he has now been scheduled for another debridement surgery. However, Sadam can no longer afford the treatment he needs.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. On November 1st, Sadam will undergo a debridement procedure on his foot. His treatment and care will cost $505 and Sadam needs you help.
Sadam says, “I believe that I will make a quick recovery soon so that I can go home to my family and provide for them.”
