Ro is a young kindergarten student from Cambodia. He lives on the outskirts of Kandal province with his loving parents and his older brother, who studies in grade 4. His mother is a teacher, and his father is a rice farmer. Ro enjoys playing with toy cars and likes eating fried and boiled eggs. His favorite subject is language arts, and he dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up.
Ro was involved in a serious traffic accident one year ago, in which he was dragged by a car. As a result, he required a skin graft at a government hospital, leaving him with scar contractures on his right hip and thigh. The scar contractures cause him pain and itchiness, and his parents are concerned that they may affect his ability to walk.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is helping Ro receive treatment. They are requesting $572 to help cover the cost of his care. With your help, surgeons will perform a contracture release surgery on January 21st to relieve his pain and improve his mobility. This will allow Ro to walk comfortably and participate in daily activities.
His mother said, “After the surgery, I hope that my son will no longer have pain, so he can focus more on his studies.”
