Sleumas is a soft drinks vendor from Cambodia. She has one brother and two sisters. She likes to watch the news and films on TV.
Two years ago, Sleumas developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurry vision, sometimes itchiness, pain, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sleumas learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for one and a half hours seeking treatment. On September 10, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see everything clearer than now so I can continue my work as a seller again and I can go anywhere outside well on my own.”
