Srey Nich is an 18-year-old garment factory worker from Cambodia. She is from Kampong Thom province where she lives with her parents, who work as rice farmers, and her younger brother, who is in second grade. At home, she likes cooking, watching movies on her phone, and helping her little brother with his homework.
Three months ago, Srey Nich was in a motorbike accident that left her with a serious left leg injury. She is unable to walk and must use a wheelchair. She feels pain at the wound site, which makes it difficult for her to do daily activities and prevents her from working at the factory.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 1st, Srey Nich will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help reduce her pain, allow her to walk again, and enable her to return to work to help support her family. Srey Nich’s family can contribute $50 but needs help to raise $550 more for her procedure and care.
Srey NIch said, “I hope I can have surgery so I can return to work and help support my family again.”
