Murungi is a baby from Uganda. He is two years old and an only child. He hasn’t yet started preschool. His mother is a farmer, and his father is a motorcycle taxi driver. Murungi’s father has been saving money to buy his own motorcycle.
Murungi was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Murungi has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future.
Murungi will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on November 8. AMHF is requesting $199 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.

Murungi underwent corrective surgery.
The repair was a success. He is no longer in pain and discomfort. After recovery, he will be able to play without feeling pain.
His mother says, “My son is getting well already. I am excited that he will no longer complain of pain and I am going to have peace of mind. I have nothing to give you in return for what you’ve done for me. Only God will thank and reward you for me. I also appreciate the doctors’ work. After his recovery I’ll concentrate on my work at home because I’ll have no worries about him.”
