Katusabe is a child from Uganda. She is the third born out of four children. Katusabe is in pre-school, where she is studying hard because she wants to become a teacher. Her parents are farmers, and they cultivate food for both home consumption and for sale.
For five years, Katusabe has had a left inguinal hernia. The hernia causes her discomfort and pain. If not treated, she may suffer intestinal tissue damage. Fortunately, on January 10, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Katusabe’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably.
Her mother says, “My daughter’s health is being disturbed. She needs help. I am unable to pay for her treatment.’’

Katusabe underwent hernia repair surgery.
Katusabe’s hernia repair was a success. She is no longer at risk of strangulation of the hernia. After recovery, she will be able to play and attend school regularly.
Her mother says, “After her recovery I hope she will be able to attend school on a regular basis and she will do well in class. I am very grateful to everyone who has given me support in one way or another, most especially the people who have paid for my daughter’s surgery. I have nothing to give in return. I pray for God’s blessings upon each person.”
