Jaysen is a three-year-old boy from Kenya. He lives with his mother, who was recently widowed and is raising two children while expecting a third. Despite these challenges, she has been doing her best to provide for her family.
Two weeks ago, while playing with friends during the school holiday, Jaysen fell and injured his right eye. His condition worsened over the following days despite initial treatment at a local dispensary. Jaysen has since been diagnosed with a brain abscess — a buildup of fluid in the brain — and doctors recommend a craniotomy, a procedure in which part of the skull is temporarily removed to access and treat the infection.
Fortunately, on May 7th, Jaysen will undergo craniotomy surgery with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. He is raising $1,500 to fund the surgery, which will give him the chance to recover and live a healthy life ahead.
“I’m a mess right now. Seeing my son in pain is torture. I am hopeful that after this surgery, he will be better and all this will be a thing of the past,” Jaysen’s mother said.
