Geoffrey is a three-year-old boy from Kenya. He is quite shy. and a little smile will send him right behind his mother. Geoffrey is currently in a lot of pain, particularly after he eats.
It was in a local hospital that they came to know of their son’s condition- Geoffrey has a right inguinal hernia. He runs the risk of strangulation and hence restriction of blood supply to the tissues. A friend close to the family advised them to visit Bethany Kids, a Watsi partner hospital, for specialized treatment. With the drive to have their son well, they visited but they are not able to raise the funds required for the surgery.
The family of two children lives in a single room house in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. Geoffrey’s mother is a stay at home mom while his father is a private school teacher. Having no other source of money, his income is hardly enough to cater for their basic needs leave alone cater for Geoffrey’s surgical care.
“It hurts to see Geoff in pain and it hurts more to know that I cannot do much due to finances,” his mother shared. “Our coming to Bethany Kids has brought a ray of hope where pain will be forgotten soon. Thanks Watsi.”
