Natumanya is a young preschooler from Uganda and the third born in a family of four children. He has three brothers, all studying at different levels in school. His father is a farmer who normally grows tomatoes and cabbage to sell to sustain their family and pay school fees for his children. He also drives a motorbike taxi when their family finances are especially challenging. His mother is a small scale farmer, and Natumanya’s father shared that their incomes are just enough to meet their family’s basic needs.
Since one year ago, Natumanya has had a hydrocele, which is a swelling in a sensitive area. He can’t walk well due to the pain he feels. Fortunately, on December 1st, he will undergo hydrocele repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $146 to fund Natumanya’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Natumanya s father says: “I hope that once my son is considered under your program, he will be able to undergo his surgery and have a new life afterwards. He will be happy to continue with school after they are reopened.”
