Say hello to Rachael from Kenya! Rachael is eight years old and wants to become a doctor when she grows up. Her mother works on a farm to support Rachael and her eight siblings.
Rachael lives with chronic osyteomylitis, a condition that causes bone loss in her right leg. As a result, she experiences severe pain and is unable to walk without aid. She is in school but hasn’t been able to concentrate on her studies since the pain started a few years ago.
For $1,500, doctors can perform a bone transport surgery that will allow her to use the leg again after a few months of healing. Let’s help Rachael get this surgery so that she can walk again and concentrate on her studies!

Rachael received bone transport surgery to treat her chronic osteomyelitis and allow her to use her leg again.
Although delayed a few months due to scheduling conflicts, the procedure went well.
Rachael’s mother cannot hide her joy. “I was almost giving up. I thought that maybe my daughter was not meant to get treatment. I am very grateful for all your support,” she says.
