Frank is a 61-year-old farmer from Uganda. Together with his wife, Nerisa, he has nine children. Frank grows and sells coffee and tea to support his family. He also grows other crops for consumption. In his free time, he likes teaching his children carpentry.
About a year ago, Frank sustained a fracture in his left hip, which has left him in pain and unable to work. Seeking treatment, he visited Bwindi Community Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. There, it was determined that he needs hip replacement surgery to heal his fracture.
On April 26, Frank will undergo surgery at Bwindi Community Hospital. Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is asking for $478 to cover the cost of his treatment.
“I thank the doctors, hospital, and Watsi for this opportunity to have surgery for my hip,” says Frank. “It is something I never imagined. It is a blessing.”
After surgery, Frank looks forward to returning to farming and carpentry.
