Kyaw is a 27-year-old from Burma who is bravely fighting a range of challenges. He has lived with cardiac disease since he was a boy, but his family passed away when he was young and his adoptive family was unable to afford the surgery he needed to live a normal life. Despite his desire to support himself, Kyaw is struggling make ends meet on his own because of fatigue and shortness of breath caused by his condition. A $2,000 cardiac surgery is all Kyaw needs to live a life uninhibited by the cardiac problem that’s affected him his whole life.

Sandar lives in Burma with her husband and children. Until recently, Sandar was healthy. But after a miscarriage six-months-ago, she was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst that continues to grow in size and cause her debilitating pain. For years, Sandar earned a living by selling vegetables at local markets. But now, she can no longer work because of the pain from her cyst. Sandar's husband is a day laborer, but his work has been inconsistent and the couple are having trouble affording school fees for their children.
