Luc is a toddler from Haiti. He lives in northern Haiti with his father, a teacher, his mother, a homemaker, and one older brother; he likes to help his mother around the house and feed the family's chickens. Luc has a cardiac condition called a ventricular septal defect. A hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart; blood leaks through this hole without passing through the lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him weak and short of breath. Luc will fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On December 17th, he will undergo cardiac surgery, during which surgeons will sew a patch over the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is contributing $ 6,000 toward surgery costs. Luc's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. They need help to raise $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and check-up and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the family and travel costs for the social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Luc's family overseas. Luc's mother shared, "Our family has faith that this surgery will go well and our son's heart will be healed!"

Hadasha is a toddler from Haiti. She lives with her mother and older sister in a neighborhood of the capital; her mother is a vendor. Hadasha loves dressing up and making new friends. Hadasha has a cardiac condition called patent ductus arteriosus. A hole exists between two blood vessels next to her heart; blood leaks through this hole, leaving her weak and short of breath. Hadasha will fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On November 24th, she will undergo cardiac surgery, during which doctors will use a device on the end of a catheter to plug the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is contributing $ 6,000 toward surgery costs. Hadasha's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. They need help to raise $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and check-up and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the family and travel costs for the social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Hadasha's family overseas. Hadasha's mother says, "I have been very worried about my daughter's heart, so it is a blessing to know it will be fixed soon!"

Aum is a 29-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her son and her mother in a village in Kachin State, close to the China border. Her mother looks after her son while Aum works as a farmer. She sells some of her crops for income and keep some for her family's consumption. Her husband left her after she gave birth to her son a year ago. Their income is just enough to cover family expenses, and they need to borrow money when someone is sick to pay for treatment. In the middle of 2024, Aum noticed a small lump beside her right elbow. A few months later, the lump started to gradually grow in size. Aum contacted a friend who helped arrange for her to travel to Thailand to seek review and treatment. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a tumor and the doctor recommended surgery to remove it. Currently, she experiences pain around her right elbow area and the lump keeps increasing in size. She is very worried about her condition and financial situation. Fortunately, Aum sought treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund. She is now scheduled to undergo mass removal surgery on October 16th. She is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care. Aum said, "I am really sad about my condition. I have family - my son and my mother - and they need me. I can't work due to my right arm pain. I am thankful to every staff and donors who are willing to help me. May you are all be blessed."

Woodline is a five-year-old girl from Haiti. She lives with her parents and younger sister in a suburb of Port-au-Prince. Her father works in construction and her mother is a homemaker. She will start kindergarten as soon as she recovers from her surgery and returns home. Woodline has a cardiac condition called atrial septal defect. A hole exists between the two upper chambers of her heart; blood leaks through this hole, leaving her weak and short of breath. Woodline will fly to Cayman Islands to receive treatment. On September 16th, she will undergo cardiac surgery, during which doctors will sew a patch over the hole in her heart so that blood can no longer leak through it. Another organization will be paying for her surgery. Woodline's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and check-up and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the family and travel costs for the social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Woodline's family overseas. Woodline's mother says: "I am very hopeful that my daughter will be healthy and vibrant after her surgery!"

Ah is a 25-year-old man from Burma. He and his wife are agricultural day labourers in Thailand. In his free time, Ah likes fishing, watching videos, and listening to music on his phone. On July 30th, 2025, Ah was on his motorcycle and hit a rock on the side of the road, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle. Ah fell and broke his right femur. He cannot move his right leg and is unable to walk without the support of crutches. Due to the pain, he has difficulty sleeping at night. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Ah will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for August 14th and will cost $1,500. Ah will be able to walk, live pain-free, and return to work. Ah said, “I do not have any other means of earning an income if I cannot work so, I feel like a burden. I was worried that I would never walk again as I do not have money to pay for my surgery. Knowing that you will cover my treatment cost, I feel so relieved.”

Salim is a 20-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia. He delights in playing with anything he can find and loves spending time with his siblings. As the third child in his family and their first baby boy, he holds a special place in his parents' hearts, bringing them immense joy. Salim’s parents live in a single-room home. His mother is a devoted home maker, and his father works for a government facility. They face significant challenges in providing for their family, especially as Salim's health issues continue to strain their limited resources. Within a few days of Salim's birth, it became clear that something was wrong. He struggled to breastfeed, did not cry, and appeared unusually lethargic. Weighing only 2 kg at birth, the concern prompted his mother to seek immediate medical attention. Salim's mother went back to the hospital where he was born and upon review, was told that her son would need surgery. They were referred to another facility for care. Salim was born with an anorectal malformation, a congenital condition that leads to a complete or partial intestinal blockage. During a follow up visit two months later, Salim's mother learned about our medical partner care center, BethanyKids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre (BKMCM), from the organization's field coordinator. Her husband’s colleagues had contributed some funds toward Salim’s treatment, but it was not enough to cover the full cost of treatment, especially when factoring in the travel expenses from Sekota to Addis Ababa. Determined, she traveled to BKMCM Hospital and after a consultation with the doctor, she felt a renewed sense of hope, even though she was informed that Salim needed to gain more weight before surgery could proceed. With her heart full of optimism, she returned home. A year later, Salim’s mother brought him back to hospital where his surgery has been scheduled for July 29th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,500 to cover the cost of Salim's procedure and care. After his recovery, Salim will no longer have bowel dysfunction and will not be at risk of developing health complications in the future. Salim's mother says, "My hope is that my son will regain his health after the surgery. I long to return home with him thriving. I am grateful for this opportunity, that will help him be healthy, just like my other children."

Ma Sway is a 39-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her husband and five children in a refugee camp in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand. She is originally from Karen State, Burma. She moved to the refugee camp in 2003, due to the fighting in her village in Burma. Her husband works as a farmer, where he plants vegetables around the camp. Ma Sway works from home as a tailor. Four of her children are attending school in the camp, and one is working outside the camp. They receive food rations and cash support from an international aid organization. In March 2024, Ma Sway noticed a painful mass in her left breast. She went to the camp hospital operated by another non-profit, where the doctor provided pain medication that offered some relief. However, in March 2025, she felt weak and felt two firm masses in her left breast. She underwent further tests, where doctors informed her the masses were not cancerous, but she needed surgery to have them removed. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Ma Sway receive treatment. She will undergo mass removal surgery on June 12th at our medical partner's care center, Mae Sariang Hospital. Now, she needs help to raise $1,500 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care. Once removed, Ma Sway will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain and worry. Ma Sway shared, “I would like to have the masses in my breast removed because whenever I feel them, I worry they will become cancer.”

Jesusa has always been a hardworking and independent woman. She finds fulfillment and extra income in sewing, despite her aging vision. She lost her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic four years ago, and since then, she has taken on more responsibilities at home as she acts as a primary caregiver of her grandchildren. In 2019, Jesusa noticed a lump on her right arm. It was small and painless, but it gradually became bigger, bringing pain and discomfort. She has recently been experiencing numbness in her right hand and occasional pain in her shoulder, particularly during cold weather. Jesusa was referred to our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines, where she was diagnosed with a lipoma. Though the condition is non-cancerous, it is affecting her daily life, particularly in performing tasks that require the use of her hands. On May 10th, Jesusa will undergo mass removal surgery and she needs help to raise $1,479 for her procedure and care. Jesusa shared, "I am very grateful to those people who are helping us especially in these difficult times. It would bring great relief to me and to my family, and we consider this a great blessing."

Simon is a six-year-old boy from Bolivia. He lives with his aunt and his five older siblings, as his mom sadly passed away giving birth to him. When Simon was small, doctors noted a heart murmur and explained that it may resolve itself over time. Unfortunately, it didn't, and doctors determined that it can only be treated with an open heart surgery. Simon has a cardiac condition called a ventricular septal defect. A hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart; blood leaks through this hole without passing through his lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him weak and short of breath. On April 16th, Simon will undergo cardiac surgery at our medical partner's care center, Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría. During surgery, doctors will sew a patch over the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Simon's family needs help to fund the costs of cardiac care and surgery. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, requests $1,500 to cover the cost of cardiac exams and diagnostics, surgical costs, follow-up care, and medications. Simon's aunt shared, "I am very hopeful that my nephew's health will be much better after this surgery!"

Burke is a 13-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He has a passion for taekwondo and a love for riding his bicycle. He enjoys seeing his mother happy and takes pride in helping his siblings. His favorite subject is English, and he is known for his kindness, sociability, and ability to initiate conversations, making him well-liked among his peers. Burke’s mother is a single parent to three children. She works hard as a bread vendor, baking and selling bread, and washing clothes for neighbors to support her family. Burke was born with hypospadias, a congenital condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of infertility. Fortunately, Burke is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on March 13th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,231 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care. Burke's mother said, "I pray that God will help him. I don't know what to expect. If he receives surgery and heals, I will be very happy and grateful."

Lucy is 50 years old and a laboratory technician from Malawi. She has four daughters. For seven years, Lucy has been experiencing lower abdominal pain. She was treated, but the pain reoccurred in 2023. In December 2024, she experienced intense pain and went to a hospital where she was diagnosed with a right pelvic mass. A pelvic mass refers to a growth or enlargement originating in the cervix, an ovary, the uterus, or a surrounding structure in the lower abdomen. Pelvic masses may lead to pelvic, abdominal, or back pain, discharges, or bleeding. If left untreated, it may continue increasing in size, hence worsening symptoms, and may be fatal. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Lucy receive surgery. On February 14th, Lucy will undergo a hysterectomy, where surgeons will remove her uterus. Lucy needs help to raise $1,363 to fund her procedure and care. Once recovered, Lucy will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Lucy shared, "I will be the happiest person after getting surgery support, which will enable me to become more productive after surgery both at work and at home as the current breadwinner."

Teylor is an eight-year-old girl from Bolivia. Her mother works as a waitress and her father works in construction. Teylor is an only child. She is in second grade and loves to paint. Teylor has a cardiac condition called patent ductus arteriosus where a hole exists between two major blood vessels near her heart. Blood leaks through this hole, leaving her weak and short of breath. On January 15th, she will undergo cardiac surgery at our medical partner's care center, Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría. During surgery, surgeons will close the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Teylor's family needs help to fund the costs of cardiac care and surgery. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,500 to cover the cost of cardiac exams and diagnostics, surgical costs, follow-up care, and medications. Teylor's mother said, "Teylor is a happy girl but she gets tired easily. We know this surgery will make her feel much better so she can enjoy life!"
