Meet Cho, a baby girl living in Burma with her parents. Cho’s mother owned a food and drink stand, which she stopped managing when she became pregnant with Cho, and her father is a day laborer and taxi driver. Living on one income has been difficult since Cho was born.
Cho was born prematurely in a local hospital, unequipped with the oxygen and incubator Cho needed to get a healthy start. Worried for their newborn baby, Cho’s parents took her to a hospital in Thailand for treatment where doctors noticed she has a serious eye condition; stage 3 Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). This disease, which is caused by disorganized growth of retinal blood vessels, can result in scarring and retinal detachment. Without treatment, Cho’s eye may deteriorate and she may become blind.
Fortunately, we can raise $1500 to give Cho a lens replacement surgery. With treatment, Cho will have the gift of sight for her whole life. What are we waiting for?
