Clamson is a young student from Haiti. He lives with his parents and younger sister in a city in northern Haiti. He likes going to kindergarten and to church. Clamson has a cardiac condition called a ventricular septal defect. A hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart; blood leaks through this hole without passing through his lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him weak and short of breath. Clamson will fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On January 22nd, he will undergo cardiac surgery, during which surgeons will sew a patch over the hole in his heart so that blood can no longer leak through it. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is contributing $5000.00 to pay for surgery. Clamson's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. They need help raising $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and check-up and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the family and travel costs for the social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Clamson's family overseas. Clamson's mother shared, "Our family has been praying for this surgery ever since we found out about our son's heart problem. We are glad the time has finally arrived!"

Rottanok is an eight-year-old boy who lives with his parents and his younger sister in Prey Veng province in Cambodia. His parents sell food, including rice and soup, to factory workers near their home for breakfast and lunch. Rottanok is currently in grade one, and he loves studying English. In his free time at home, he enjoys playing with car toys. Rottanok was born with several congenital conditions, including a cleft lip and palate, malformations in both hands, and syndactyly of the left foot. His right thumb is webbed, and he experiences difficulty with wrist movement. He has difficulty gripping objects, writing, and playing with toys. Fortunately, our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. Rottanok and his parents traveled to see specialized surgeons and will undergo a right thumb webspace and wrist release procedure to improve the function of his hand. The surgery is scheduled for October 17th. Currently, Rottanok's parents can only afford $50 for this complex procedure, and they need assistance with the remaining $437 to cover surgery, post-operative care, and medication. After surgery, surgeons hope he will be able to use his right hand more effectively, enhancing his ability to grip objects, write, and participate in activities with his friends and family. Rottanok's father said: "We hope that after surgery, Rottanok to use his hand and be successful in school."

Nimona is four-year-old boy who is in kindergarten in Ethiopia. He lives with his father and mother, and his father works at a construction site. This work is physically demanding and he does not earn much income. His son could not yet get the surgery he needs on time because of their financial realities. Nimona had been treated with high grade fever for the last 6 months. Because of his fever and difficulty breathing, he has not been able to play and study with his mates. He also has difficulty swallowing, sleeping, and breathing. Nimona was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Nimona, which is scheduled to take place on November 23rd. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully finally relieving Nimona of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably. He told us, " I will be hoping to sleep and breathe better. And, am craving for peaceful nighttime."
